I researched dynamics and constraints. I used several resources on how to utilize breaking pieces, forces, and lighting in Houdini. This first attempt is primarily familiarizing and practicing with the basics of fracturing geometry, and then using a path to activate the force on the pieces.
This second attempt is too complicate the scene, by adding lighting, smaller particles, and smoke into the scene. The primary goal was to take this force going into the upward direction to give it a sorcery-like feel. Mainly a mystical portal opening up in the ground. The set up is similar to the first attempt but enlarged and tweaked to fit within the surface.
